How trivial, this post.

A blank sheet of paper.
White.
Crisp.
Unmarked by ink or lead.
It shines, a blank canvas,
So beautiful and clean in its perfection.
How difficult to scar its surface-
To ruin its naivety.
And yet so necessary to write a thought.
How trivial, the paper.
How trivial, the thought.

Another poem.
This one comes from a notebook that I used to write in all the time.
This is basically what happened each time I encountered a fresh page.
What a silly Inktress.

Melody

A precious little melody
winding between notes and chords.
A grand crescendo followed by a peaceful lull.
Ascending arpeggios, climbing for the rafters,
only to fall two octaves to the floor.
A run up the chromatic scale,
to run back down.
Never to reach the top of the staff,
the highest note.
It can only try.

_______________

This is a poem I composed a while back. It's not much but I like it.
Constructive criticism is appreciated.
Thank you.

Obviously New

Hello blogspot! This is the Inktress speaking. And speak she will. This is not a blog for random ramblings, as much as this may seem like one right now. This is a blog for me.

If I find myself interested in something, research it, and write an article on it, you will know. If I find myself having written another chapter into my ongoing novel, you will know. If I actually get around to typing up some poetry, you will know.

But until then, you get this nice little filler blog. Lovely, no?

I am new at this, so I hope you'll forgive a few transgressions along the way. But as it is, I will likely update again within the week.

Because, my readers, how else does one run a blog?

I am going to pretend that I don't sound like an idiot who's attempting to write a blog. Because hey, I'm just a girl with alot of stories in her head that need to come out on paper eventually.

Then again, everything is eventual, it would seem.
